Fourth Grade News

Dear Parents and Students,

                 The first few weeks of school we are practicing classroom procedures until they become routine.  From the moment students enter the classroom they will be learning procedures to help them be successful this school year.  We will also be spending a lot of time doing community-building activities to get to know one another, build friendships, and create a community of learners. 

          Math homework will be assigned nightly and due the following day.  The homework packet, including the Reading Log, will be due on Friday.  Help your child become organized by having a quiet place for them to do their homework.   Also, ensure that their work is placed in their binder to be returned to school.

      Each school day you will need to bring or buy your lunch.  You will also need to bring a nutritious snack such as a piece of fruit, vegetables, cheese, nuts, and/or crackers to eat during morning recess break.  Please remember to bring your snack even on days you choose to buy lunch at school! 

     P.E. will be on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Please make sure students wear good running shoes on these days.

                                                  

 

                  Las primeras semanas de la escuela vamos a practicar las rutinas de la clase.  También vamos a hacer muchas actividades para formar amistades en la clase y para crear un ambiente cómodo y académico.

          En cuarto grado hay tarea de matemática cada noche y tienen que entregarlo el día siguiente.  También, hay un paquete de tarea que tienen que entregar cada viernes.  Ayuden a su hijo para ser más organizado y encontrando un lugar tranquilo para hacer su tarea.  También hágale recordar que ponga su tarea en la mochila para devolverlo a la escuela. 

Todos los días su hijo necesita llevar un almuerzo o comprarlo.  También necesitan una botana saludable todos los días, por ejemplo:  queso, fruta, nueces, o galletas. 

Empezando la primera semana de la escuela, vamos a tener clases de educación física los Lunes y Martes.   Por favor asegúrense que su hijo lleve zapatillas para correr estos días. 

 

   Fourth Grade Supply List

  Each student needs:

     1-3 ring binder (approx. 2”)      

    3-70 sheet spiral notebooks (wide rule)

    3-Pocket folders (the type with 3 holes)

    1-Box of tissues (for class use)

    2-Pink eraser wedges

    1-Black Sharpie pen (thin line or fine point)

    1-Highlighter pen

    1-Small plastic pencil box

    1-Box of number 2 pencils

    1-Red correction pen
    2-Dry-erase pens

    1-Mini white board (approx. 8”x10”)                

    1-Pair of scissors

    1-Package of 5 tab dividers

 

**Fourth Grade classrooms could use the following supplies:

  • Clorox wipes (for cleaning after art)
  • Swifter Dry Cloths
  • Cardstock –  white
  • Copy paper – white
  • Colored pencils
  • Red pens for correcting work
  • Dry Erase Markers/ Thin – class set of black (31)
  • Hand-sanitizer gel (we use this daily before snack)
  • Kleenex
  • Pencils – multiple boxes
  • Post-it Sticky Notes
  • Sharpie markers – class set of black (32)
  • Sharpie markers – class set of ultra-fine black (32)
  • Watercolor paper (any size)
  • Ziploc bags – gallon & quart size
  • Printer cartridge – HP 96 (Black) and HP 97 ( Tri-color)
